Okay, so it's been nearly ten years since they split, yet still nobody has matched them for sheer crushing, intense noise. They were the best, no contest full stop. Anyone who begs to differ, don't bother, I'm not a charity. You're wrong, plain and simple. In an effort to (mis)inform we've provided the booklet notes from Sound of Impact (1987). Be afraid. Folk who don't already have them might like to get their grubby hands on the John Peel session Big Black recorded back in 1987. These have been mp3-ified for your WinAmp pleasure. They were salvaged from a pretty ropy cassette so don't expect CD quality. The songs recorded were: NewmanGenerator L Dopa Dead Billy Ugly American We've also got, quite unnecessarily, yet another copy of the Final Tour Diary. It's such a fine read though, so what the Hell. Other people have got some smart Big Black sites of course. Here are the best: Pasha Naini's Big Black Discography is damned thorough and has some interviews too.
